ISS Web Album
Laptops

A major part of the pre-planning has been to decide which computer platform the school would use. After consideration of options, and a survey of schools regionally running 1to1 programs, ISS has made the decision to adopt an Apple Macintosh platform. There are many reasons why the Macintosh platform was selected and these include durability, performance, security, reliability, battery life, compatibility with school infrastructure, dual core potential, ease of use and range of software.

A major factor has been stability – having undertaken significant research we discovered that schools of our size using the PC platform have faced considerable operational difficulties (such as compatibility issues, network security, computer “uptime” and virus control), which do not occur with the Macintosh platform. It also helps that Apple is the world leader in 1to1 education, and in working with schools in developing 21st Century Digital schools. Ironically, none of us were Apple users before we commenced the search process for the right platform, however, after a careful study, the choice was very clear.

ISS has formed a partnership with Apple Asia to provide MacBooks and MacBook Pro laptops for our students at a discounted price specifically set for the School. Details about cost of selected models, pre-installed software and the downloadable order form are available by clicking on the links below.

* Please note that all student laptops must be either a MacBook or MacBook Pro and must have a student account installed with the ISS software along with an Administrator account that must be accessable to ISS staff when on the school network. These two accounts will be installed when the MacBook or MacBook Pro is ordered.

For all orders, please fill in the order form and take it to the store along with your ISS student card.
